Our Mission

To organize and facilitate a beach week event for our Veterans and their families as a way to show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that such a community-based gesture of support will be comforting and help ease their transition back into civilian life.

The Event: 13th Annual Warrior Family Beach Week 2026

Operation SEAs the Day is a beach week event for our Veterans who are recovering from injuries sustained while serving our country. The Warrior Family Beach Week will be held September 8-13, 2026, in Bethany Beach, DE.

During this week, Bethany Beach hosts Veterans and their immediate families for a well-deserved week of rest and relaxation. All of the VIF (Very Important Families) stay in homes/condos donated by local homeowners.

Our Organization

Operation Seas the Day (OSTD), a community-based volunteer organization, was founded in 2013 by three residents of Bethany Beach. Since then, OSTD has been providing a “Warrior Family Beach Week” to support our veterans who are recovering from injuries sustained while serving our country. The purpose of this beach week is for these veterans and their immediate “Very Important Families (VIFs) to experience a well-deserved week of rest and relaxation as they transition back to civilian life. All VIFs stay in homes and condominiums donated by local homeowners and the business community.

Support

  • Operation SEAs The Day is organized and operated as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
  • Most donations are tax-deductible.
  • The primary purpose of Operation SEAs The Day is to support wounded active duty and veteran military service members and their families through various activities, including, but not limited to, organizing donated local beach homes and facilitating an annual “beach week” and other events as a gesture of appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
  • All OSTD fundraising is done at no cost by local, unpaid volunteers.
  • No salaries or other compensation are paid to any Board Member, Officer, Committee Member, or Volunteer of OSTD. Well over 90% of our expenditures are spent directly supporting our Warrior Families and conducting Warrior Beach Week.
